The Kallithea Baths
A spa with a distinctly European atmosphere, dating from the inter-war period, lakes and waterfalls, aqueducts concealed in the lush vegetation.

The Italians made good use of the island’s rich sources of water, and the impressive constructions they left behind still evoke the style and atmosphere of the period in which they were built.

The centre is dominated by the Rotunda, with its massive vaulted roof and fine decoration. Here the waters of six healing springs issued from six fountains. The spa was operational until just a few years ago and its restoration is being implemented. You may relax in clam waters of the picturesque bay or explore its fascinating underwater world by taking scuba-diving lessons.

And if the magnificent central entrance seems familiar, it is not because it was part of any old Italian film about the Roman emperors, but part of the film Doloma, staring Greek Actress Aliki Vougiouklakis, which was filmed here – like many other Greek films.

To get to the spa, take the main road from Rhodes town to Lindos and turn left when you see the sign (11 kilometres from Rhodes town).
